Laura Lech, MBA, RTRP
Founder and President
Laura is the proud owner of Colonial Bookkeeping & Tax, Inc., which she launched in 2010. During more than a decade in public accounting, Laura has worked with a wide range of clients in the non-profit and for-profit sectors as well as high-net-worth individuals.
A Certified Quickbooks ProAdvisor, Laura is passionate about mastering new technologies. She also enjoys helping others understand the challenges and rewards of the business world, including the ever-evolving tax code and fast-moving tech scene. Laura is an IRS Registered Tax Return Preparer with deep working knowledge of GAAP. Equally comfortable on both sides of the auditor's desk, she reassures anxious clients by preparing them in advance for what to expect and supporting them through each step.
Laura holds a certificate in Forensic Accounting from Northeastern University and a Master's in Business Administration from Nichols College. She is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Commonwealth Honors College at University of Massachusetts Amherst.
Leah Conley
Manager of Bookkeeping Operations
Leah Conley joined Colonial Bookkeeping in 2016 after ten years as Chief Operating Officer at ADS Ventures, Inc., an integrated government relations, strategic communications, and business and nonprofit development consultancy. Leah brings to CB&T's core accounting and bookkeeping practice a complementary suite of expertise in human resources, including hiring, benefits, employee reviews, company procedures, and new employee integration.
Like Laura, Leah is a technophile who enjoys providing IT support to her clients. At CB&T, Leah integrates financial accounts data with accounting information software and performs a variety of bookkeeping and accounting tasks. She also navigates the world of federal and state lobbying regulations and files annual reports and disclosures.
Leah earned her BA in Political Science from Northeastern University, where she was a Dean's List student.
